The Studio

Six control rooms surround the recording studio at NESCom. The large studio room features two isolation booths for percussion and vocal work. Two more rooms are available on the buildings upper level as well as numerous Computer work areas for students learning the ins and outs of Digital Audio Workstations.

Our Microphone closet has an incredible array of microphones available for student use. The collection includes mikes by Royer, Neumann, RCA, AKG, Earthworks, Sony, Electrovoice, Audio Technica, Beyer, Cad, Shure, Telefunken and many others. There are 3 full racks of microphone pre-amps and compressors by Focusrite, Avalon, Universal Audio, Presonus, HHB, Amek, Drawmer, and DBX just to name a few.

Audio Lab G


Located on the second floor of our studio complex, audio lab G is a work lab for students in introductory classes. This room introduces students to console operation, audio signal paths and sound design for television, music recording and web based audio application. Students use a 24 Toft audio console and an IZ radar 24 channel hard disk recording system as well as a full patch system and numerous pieces of outboard equipment

Audio Edit Suites

Did we mention that we do Pro Tools? It's no secret that this software suite has taken the audio world by storm. Not learning the ins and outs of this software piece, if you plan on a career in audio, would be like becoming a runner without knowing how to tie your shoes. Thirteen Audio Edit suites like this one are fully equipped for mixing and mastering in the Pro Tools environment. Students have access to 33 pro tools systems where they can test their skills on some great creative productions.

Audio Lab F

This teaching suite carries the exact same list of equipment as Audio lab G with a slightly larger 32 channel toft audio board. The "fish" room has lots of space for students to spread out for lab and all the equipment they need to complete homework assignments in introductory classes.

Control A

Control A
The heart of the "Jungle room" is an API 1608 with a 16 channel expander mated with an IZ radar 24 channel hard disk recording system. Students enrolled in audio 2 use this room to track and mix live bands, mix audio for live radio broadcasts hone their skills with a large array of the best audio processing equipment available.

Control B

Control B
This room features an SSL 900AWS+ and a Digidesign Pro Tools TDM 3 System. As well as a host of high-end outboard gear. Students in Digital Mixing and Recording classes utilize this control room to hone their skills in mixing and recording as well as for ADR and Foley work in creating sound design for film or for cartoons.

Advanced Studios

Control C


This studio complements our Pro Tools curriculum. This room features a Pro Tools HD system with full surround sound processing and Digidesign's new Command D console in a 24 fader frame. The studio also features midi keyboards and a large selection of effect plug ins. Students in Pro Tools 201 and 210 classes use this room for mixing and editing music tracks and for Video Post work.

Control D

Control D is home to a 48 channel API Vision. The Vision is a high end fully automated console it can be used with a  students choice of Digital Audio Workstations including Pro Tools HD, Nuendo, Digital Performer and Logic Pro. The room is also equipped with 5. 1 surround and two 50-inch video monitors. In this room, NESCom students practice and learn advanced recording and mixing techniques, learn advanced techniques in studio recording and the work flow associated with a wide array of  audio processing equipment that can be found in this room.



Control E

Control E
Control E is home to the second Digidesign ICON series audio console and a Pro Tools HD system with surround sound monitoring. At this level students are recording full length albums and working with audio for television and movies, using Pro Tools. This room is also used in the ICON certification class. If you can dream it, you can do it in this room!
