Congratulations on earning a scholarship!
Please complete the following steps so your scholarship can be processed:

  1. Submit a copy of the letter notifying you that you were the selected recipient. Most scholarship organizations issues a letter or certificate of some kind to each student that is selected as a recipient. This letter will outline the terms of your scholarship and what you must do in order to receive your scholarship payment.
  2. Determine when your scholarship will be applied to your account. All scholarship organizations have different requirements and procedures that determine when a scholarship payment can be sent to the student. This letter will tell you what you have to do in order to have the scholarship payment released. Because of these differing factors, your scholarship may not be applied at the beginning of the semester. Some students will find that they must pay their out of pocket balance without the scholarship and will be reimbursed when the payment is received. To determine when your scholarship will be applied please refer to the policy below.

Outside Scholarship Policy

Any scholarship that a student receives OTHER THAN a NESCom scholarship is considered an outside scholarship. All scholarship organizations have different requirements and procedures. Because of these differing factors, NESCom has the following policy:

Please read through this policy to see how your scholarship will be applied to your student account.

Your scholarship is not considered payment on your account until we have actually received the funds. If you owe a balance and plan on paying with your scholarship you may have to pay your balance out of pocket and be reimbursed when the scholarship check is sent to the school to avoid not being financially cleared or assessed a late payment fee.

If the check will be sent directly to you, you must bring the check to the financial aid office, endorse it, and at that time the amount would be applied to the students account. Be sure to bring your check to the financial aid office as soon as your receive it. NOTE: If you do not receive the check before the semester begins you must pay the balance you owe and be reimbursed later when the check arrives.

If the check will be sent directly to NESCom and requires an enrollment verification, transcript, or other stipulation before the check is sent then the check will be applied when the check arrives. NOTE: If the check does not arrive before the semester begins you must pay the balance you owe and be reimbursed later when the check arrives.
