STUDENTS TEAM UP TO PRODUCE REMOTE EVENTS
Every fall semester, students in the Video Production department at NESCom learn remote video production skills in a practical application environment. They work with faculty to produce numerous live events with NESCom Mobile Productions. This spring, students from the fall 2011 Studio 2 class have taken it upon themselves to keep the momentum going.
With full support of the NESCom faculty, a team of 15 students have joined together to create a production crew outside of any. Because of this student crew, the Mobile Productions Unit has a full schedule of 15 events this semester. "I love the teamwork that goes into these events, the different concentrations working together, it’s great!" says Senior Cary Chesley
The first event was this past weekend when the Husson Eagles hosted 2 double headers vs Green Mountain on Friday and Castleton State on Saturday. Every aspect of the production was planned and executed by the student crew. In fact, as Video Department Head Rodney Verrill states, "All I had to do was drive the remote unit to the site".
So far, the student-driven production crew is a success. Sophomore Jim Tornatore says “It shows the type of motivated people here at NESCom. I'm going to keep working the events because we are only going to get better”. Dan Hogan, Junior adds, "It's a great experience to work with this crew. I see all the hard work that everyone else is putting in and it makes me really want to be a part of it for the rest of my time here. I love getting involved, and this is a perfect activity to be involved in.”
