Following an honorable mention last year, NESCom students have been awarded a first place prize in the Broadcast Education Association 2012 Festival of Media Arts. The award is in the Student Audio Competition, Comedy or Drama category for WHSN's 2nd annual Edgar Allan Poe's Tales of Mystery and Imagination.
Students of Husson University and NESCom, under the Direction of Ken Stack, performed in period costumes playing each part true to the golden age of radio. The program also had a team of students working with old-fashioned sound effects including mic'd water dripping to simulate the crypt in "The Cask Of Amontillado"
The production required the team-work of NESCom students in the Live-Sound Technology, Radio Broadcast and Entertainment Production concentrations, under the direction of NESCom faculty and staff.
